BIOGRAPHY

Stephen Lowe is the eighth person to hold the Registrar of Companies position in the Government of Bermuda.  The Registrar of Companies Department comes under the Ministry of Economic Development.

Having obtained his post graduate degree in business administration with a concentration in Accounting, Stephen began his career as an Auditor for the former “big four” accounting firm Coopers and Lybrand (now known as “PWC”) and then moved on to what is now known as HSBC Bank Bermuda.  Fulfilling a long time dream and wanting to make a positive difference in his country, he moved from the private sector and accepted a position at the Registrar of Companies where he has held the position of Registrar since 2002.

As the Registrar of Companies Stephen is also The Official Receiver of Bermuda, the Superintendent of Real Estate and Director of the Competent Authority of Real Estate under Bermuda’s Anti Money Laundering legislation.

Stephen has been married to Carolla for 24 years and together they have 3 children and 4 wonderful grandchildren.  Stephen is an avid powerboater, nature lover, chess player, reader, and music lover.
